A quick summary.
A trepidatious Murex arrived to crowds of opposition demonstrating their feelings with banners.
After a brief introduction by the council Chairman, the floor was given to Steve Ellam, an agricultural consultant from Murex energy, who attempted to make their case amid heckling and interruptions from the crowd. Steve explained that they erect huge 900KW turbines but claim the greater subsidies available at the 500KW level as the life of the turbine is extended so maximizing their profit. This was not the government’s intent of the higher subsidy at all. It was to encourage smaller. less unsightly turbines.
Not one person raised their hand in support of the project when asked. Despite this massive opposition Murex were explicit in stating that they would continue with the project.
